Handcrafted Jewelry designed with Antique and Vintage Buttons by Judy Perilstein

I have long been intrigued and fascinated by the world of Antique and Vintage Buttons. Their  sheer diversity of design and use of a myriad of  materials such as those constructed with early utilitarian Bone, or lovely Mother of Pearl with its tender  inner light, or twinkling black Glass made in Bohemia, or early plastic Bakelite  with its rich color and smooth thick texture… are only a just a few to mention.  Buttons represent the ever changing eras of clothing fashion and have a wonderful, interesting history. Many times they were the “jewelry of clothing”, and I have been designing and creating actual jewelry pieces showcasing these tiny treasures for the past two decades. I am  a self taught artist who has  tenaciously developed my successful styles, always concerned with strong methods of construction, comfort of wearing, and uniqueness of design. I  love  to share facts and details of the buttons chosen in each piece along with their accompanying beading and points of interest. I invite you to read the descriptions to learn and enjoy.

Round Two Jewelry got its name from most buttons being round in shape and many, way too beautiful and fabulous to sit in a box forever, are now given  their second chance to enhance!

In addition to the button jewelry, I am now offering my handcrafted jewelry (gasp!) without buttons, sewn items such as Passover Matzoh covers, Shabbat Challah Covers, Afikomen Bags for Passover, and Jewelry Storage Pouches made with beautiful repurposed silk from vintage men’s ties.

In the future, look for more handcrafted items from my curiosity of those beckoning rabbit holes I love to venture inside to expand my joy of learning and creating. My first love, though, will always be the Button Jewelry!
