Handcrafted Earrings designed with Vintage Black Glass Buttons and Wire Weaving
These very pretty vintage black glass buttons have a lovely etched design. Into the grooves of the etched design a finish known as “ golden luster” is permanently fired on, and created a delicate sparkling effect. The buttons are most probably from the 1930’s to 1940’s and were beautifully made.
The elegant buttons are transformed into earrings by attaching intricate wire weaving to the glass shanks of the buttons. There is a photo of the back to view this process.
The hanging length is one inch and the width , including the weaving is 1/2 inch.
The French hook ear wires are handmade with 20 gauge gold filled wire. They have been strengthened in a tumbler and the little loops are soldered closed.
Repurposing these sweet buttons into elegant, wearable, interesting earrings is a joy to create!
