Handcrafted Earrings designed with Antique Black Glass Buttons and Vintage Metal Buttons
Beautiful antique black glass buttons are framed by vintage flattened and curved metal buttons in these unique earrings.
The black glass buttons are a wonderful example of the delicate and exquisite detail that went into their design and construction. They were meant to compliment the elegant fashion sense of their era. Because of their metal shanks, they can be dated anywhere from the early 1900’s to the 1930’s. The tiny faceted designs are enhanced with a permanent fired-on finish known as Silver Lustre, and they have maintained their soft twinkle all these years!
Vintage metal buttons frame and protect the glass buttons. The metal buttons have been flattened and shaped to form the frame. The glass buttons are securely wired onto the metal buttons. There is a photo of the backs to see this.
Tiny faceted hematite stone beads on sterling silver rings further enhance the earrings.
The handmade ear wires are sterling silver . They have been strengthened in a tumbler and the little loops holding the earrings are soldered closed.
The earrings measure 1 and 3/8” long and 7/8” wide.
The colors include soft black, silver, and dark gray.
