Handcrafted Earrings designed with Vintage Metal and Black Glass Buttons and Wire Weaving
When metal buttons are flattened, the designs upon them morph into an olde world effect, and they are beautifully transformed. In this design, they are then curved into a calla lily shape to encase lovely vintage black glass buttons.
The glass buttons are intricately wire woven as a method of securely attaching them to the metal button. The glass buttons are faceted. They feature a delicately etched design with the softly light catching finish known as “golden lustre”. This finish was meant to stand the test of time and by the lovely twinkle it surely has. I would date the glass buttons anywhere from the 1930’s through the 1950’s.
There are also faceted hematite stones above the rolled buttons.
The drop length is a scant 1 ½ inches.
The width at the widest point is 1/2”.
The handmade ear wires are made with 20 gauge gold filled wire. They have been strengthened in a tumbler and the little loops holding the earrings are soldered closed.
The earrings have a wonderful antique vibe with a sense of elegance, fun, and interest!
Thank you for your kind interest
