Handcrafted Earrings designed with Botanically Themed Metal Buttons
These sweet earrings are designed with two metal buttons each..
The top round buttons are antique lovelies with a botanical theme. They appear to be silver toned bell flowers on a brass stem and a soft black background. The base buttons are vintage brass and I have flattened them first and then shaped them. When vintage metal buttons are hammered flat, the images upon them take on an old world effect, and they are beautifully transformed.
The top buttons are attached to the base buttons by securely wiring them on using their shanks. There is a photo of the back of the earring to see this process.
The French hook ear wires are handmade by me using 20 gauge gold filled wire. They have been hardened in a tumbler and the loops holding the earrings are soldered closed.
There are two gold filled rings with tiny faceted black hematite stones embellishing each earring.
The earrings measure one inch wide.
The hanging length is one and one eighth inches including the little ring embellishments on the bottom.
