Handcrafted Earrings designed with Botanically Themed Vintage Buttons and Fresh Water Pearls
Beautiful vintage “mirror back” metal buttons with leaves and floral design were gently flattened and shaped into earring components. Mirror Back buttons have a raised design with a sheet of shiny metal under them to catch the light. I painted the background with a little metallic copper color to blend with the handmade copper curved bar at the top and also to blend with the gentle colors of the fresh water pearls . The larger pearl is a bronzy coppery color and the smaller is a peachy coppery color.
The handmade French hook ear wires are made with 20 gauge gold filled wire. They have been hardened in a tumbler and the little loops holding the earrings are soldered closed.
The total drop length is 1 ¾ inches.
The diameter at the widest point is the copper bar at 1 1/4”.
The button diameter is 3/4”.
A little wire wrapping connects the copper bar to the buttons .
These earrings have a rich, soft, and elegant bronze and copper color scheme with lots of textural interest. They also have an Antique Asian style.
