Handcrafted Pendant Necklace with a Vintage Glass Button framed by Intricate Wire Weaving
“Live Wire”
Intricate Wire Weaving frames a beautiful vintage glass button in this handcrafted pendant necklace. The button is faceted black glass with a burnished gold colored finish known as golden luster. This shiny metallic like finish had been fired on and has proven to be is very permanent. The large facets catch the light beautifully!
The button had a glass self shank and I was able to gently grind it down. In my best guestimation the fashion eras for this very well made and beautiful “look at me” design would be the 1950’s or 1960’s. In the photo of the back you will be able to see where the glass shank has been ground down, and also the brass wire frame securely holding the button in place.
The wire weaving frame is done with copper base wire woven with very thin wire in an antiqued bronze color. The frame also has some tiny faceted coppery bronze coated hematite beads woven in.
Above the pendant is a large coppery bronze dyed fresh water pearl and the neck beading continues with handmade copper cones, wire coil beads, more fresh water pearls , and more hematite beads.
The lobster clasp and rings are gold filled.
Dimensions:
Pendant is 1 1/16” in diameter at the widest point.
Pendant length is 1 1/4”
Neck beading is 17 7/8” long.
